TRAFFICKING VICTIM SUPPORT

The Manny Pacquiao Foundation has had the opportunity to partner with several incredible organizations to support young girls vulnerable to sexual abuse and girl survivors of sexual violence. These organizations are fighting for a world without sexual violence and we are honored to be fighting alongside them.

About 7,000,000 children are sexually abused every year in the Philippines.

More than 70% of sexually abused children are between 10 and 18 years old. Among those victims, 20% are under 6 years old.

Cases of child sexual abuse are one of the most common issues that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has to handle after abandonment and neglect.

The 2015 Child Protection Network Annual Report states that 87% of all cases of sexual violence are girls, 11.7% of which occurred in the family home.

Specifically in Western Visayas Region 6, there were:

299 Reported cases of sexual abuse in Panay Island in 2019, which include Iloilo Province, Iloilo City, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Guimaras.

152 reported cases of sexual abuse in Negros Occidental were recorded in 2019.

297 reported cases of sexual abuse in Panay Island were recorded in 2018, which include Iloilo Province, Iloilo City, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Guimaras.

187 reported cases of sexual abuse in Negros Occidental were recorded in 2018.

CAMELEON Association Inc. is an international solidarity association born in 1997. It develops a holistic approach to act on the causes and effects of sexual violence towards children and teenagers. Specifically, its direct response is to provide shelter and sustenance to girl survivors of sexual abuse and violence through their three centers in Passi City, Iloilo and in Silay City in Negros Occidental.

FUNDLIFE is a Philippine registered not-for-profit, founded in 2014. Their mission is to protect, educate and empower children from highly marginalised communities by increasing their access to mentors and opportunities.

Our Joint Fundraiser Goals: 

Generate 20 new individual enablers who will journey with 10 sexually-abused girl survivors (target goal: $62,500 (PhP 3,000,000) or $3,125 (PhP 150,000) per girl)

Overall Goal: $200,000 (PhP 10,042,000) – 10,000 girls reached x $20 per girl – Our goal is to reach a further 2,500 girls in the next 90 days and up to 10,000 over the next 12 months
